The circular trail at Braunwald in Glarus offers uninterrupted views of the high-Alpine mountain chain and an exciting nature experience. Deep green forests, austere rock formations and a captivating panorama invite you to linger.Start this tour by taking the Braunwaldbahn funicular to the top station. As soon as you step out of the cabin, you are greeted by fantastic views of the Glarus Alps. The path alternates between lush meadows and shaded woodlands, revealing an abundance of breath-taking views of mountains and valley along the way. You can see wild blueberries, gentians and many other types of plant in all colours. Massive boulders line the wayside in places. There are several options to take a restful break, including fire pits for barbecuing and any number of tranquil spots to choose from. You can also visit the mountain restaurant at Nussbüel if you prefer. On the lush green slopes you’ll find scattered wooden huts typical of the region. The sight of the Ortstock peak is particularly impressive. The far-reaching views to the rest of the Glarner Alps are your faithful companions on the entire tour.
