Description
This trail is one of 67 wheelchair accessible trails across Switzerland described on the Mobility International Switzerland website:
The route in Canton Glarus takes you from Schwanden to Netstal, through a broad and open valley surrounded by lush greenery and rugged mountain scenery. A route offering pure tranquillity and relaxation. The route starts in Schwanden and is in the natural world from the very beginning, following a wide and easy path alongside the River Linth. The lush green banks are home to various species of wild plants. Now and then you pass through shady woodland but for the most part you enjoy extensive views over the valley to the mountains towering in the background. From Mitlödi, a small village that you pass before reaching the next village of Ennenda, the route leads a little above the River Linth, thus affording particularly wide views of the stunning surroundings. This is followed by a lightly forested section, with an invitingly peaceful resting place with a barbecue spot. After Glarus the route passes Ennenda and you soon find yourself in Netstal. From it’s beginning to it’s end the route is noteworthy for its restful tranquillity, continually accompanied by the gentle rush of the river. An experience to make anyone sigh with satisfaction.Accessibility Information
