Description
This trail is one of 67 wheelchair accessible trails across Switzerland described on the Mobility International Switzerland website:
This popular hiking and cycling trail starts in Burgdorf and runs for its whole length alongside the River Emme to Hasle bei Burgdorf. The route is ideal for tanking up on energy and total relaxation in beautiful surroundings. The forested and sometimes rugged landscape is dotted with huge boulders that tower above and along the banks of the River Emme and fascinate every nature lover. In shallow spots, the river flows in tiny cascades over the stones. A little later it surprises you with deep, emerald-green passages. This is an easy and popular route. Schloss Burgdorf (castle) is unmistakeable, standing proudly on its hill, guarding the idyllic region. Along the path you repeatedly come across small, inviting rest spots, perfect to take a break. Later on the route leads out of the forest into the open, agricultural surroundings of Burgdorf. Here you enjoy long-distance views stretching over fields and meadows to the horizon. You reach the end of the route in Hasle-Rüegsau with a great feeling. The best way to round off your new impressions is to enjoy some refreshment before you return home – taking memories of nature that will last for a long time.Accessibility Information
