Southern Cross Tours Access Statement

At Southern Cross Tours we aim to ensure everyone’s experience is as enjoyable as possible. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment and will do our best to accommodate the needs of all our guests.

In this statement, we aim to accurately describe our offering so you can decide which tour experience will suit your specific requirements.

Our Vehicles

We use two vehicles for our tours.

Our 16 seater Mercedes Sprinters are higher than a normal vehicle.

They have step access with grab bars on either side of the door.

The bottom step is 42 centimetres from the ground. If needed, we will place a box on the ground to reduce the height of the first step.

Our other vehicles are smaller and sit closer to the ground. The first step is 36 centimetres from the ground.

There is a large grab bar on the right side of the steps and a smaller handle on the left side of the door opening.

Our vehicles have limited storage areas, so mobility scooters, wheelchairs and prams cannot be stored. Canes, walking sticks and crutches can be carried in the vehicle.

Some small walking frames and collapsible wheelchairs may be possible, so please contact us to discuss.

Pick Up Service

Southern Cross Tours has regular pick up points. They vary by tour and include:

• QT, Surfers Paradise
• Sheraton Mirage, Main Beach
• Australia Fair, Southport
• Helensvale Station
• Nerang Station

Where private tours are booked, we will pick up from alternative locations.

The Experience

All tours are designed to be unique, and we do our best to ensure all guests needs are met.

The tours range in length and prices and start at various times throughout the day and evening.

Our tours are fully guided and our experienced guides can offer additional assistance if required.

We can provide an arm to hold and additional commentary to people with vision impairment or written commentary for those with hearing impairment.

Service animals are welcome. Please let us know at the time of booking if you will be bringing one along.

Southern Cross Tours offers a 50% discount to Companion Card holders when joining their companion on a tour.

Amenities

There are restroom stops on each tour. However, there are may not be accessible toilets on all tours. Please refer to tour specific details below.

Refreshments are available and vary between each tour.
