GetAboutAble runner-up in the prestigious Social Entrepreneurship Competition In Tourism!
We’re proud to have placed second in the Growth Track for this prestigious awards competition
Australia’s own GetAboutAble placed 2nd in the growth category of the Social Entrepreneurship Competition in Tourism awarded by a 9-person jury, including experts from the UNWTO, ITB Berlin and TUI Care Foundation. This competition is in its third year, and is the first and only worldwide competition focusing on social innovation and entrepreneurship in tourism and hospitality.
132 applications were received from 52 different countries evaluated by the jury
according to criteria in five categories – Social & Environmental Impact, Feasibility, Tourism as a tool for development, Creativity & Innovation and a video pitch. GetAboutAble was selected as one of 10 finalists, receiving a 10-week mentoring and coaching program provided by SINA (Social Innovation Academy). The structure of the competition follows the spirit of the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
