Access for assistance animals
"Zoos Victoria aims to make its venues as easily and broadly available to all visitors as possible. We welcome visitors with assistance animals (such as guide dogs) that have completed their training and are certified by a registered authority. Please bring your certification I.D. with you.
There are identified exhibits and areas where assistance animals will not be permitted. Admission staff can provide information about these areas as you arrive at our Zoos. If visitors would like to attend these experiences, they can be escorted by a staff member or volunteer guide and assistance animals can be cared for during that time."

Mobility accessibility further information:Accessibility for wheelchairs and strollers
"Melbourne Zoo has an easy-to-follow pathway system, with access for people using wheelchairs and strollers. Wheelchairs are also available for free hire. Photographic identification is required. We recommend you book in advance for wheelchairs and strollers: (03) 9285 9300."
Guide Mobile tours
"If you are mobility-impaired, we have Guide Mobile tours available from our friendly Volunteer Guides between 10.30am and 2pm. The Guide Mobile is an electric vehicle that carries no more than three passengers at any one time. It travels at walking pace, so those unable to ride can join the tour on foot. As this is a Volunteer-led service, Guide Mobile tours are subject to the availability of Volunteers.
Please note there are safety and logistical limitations on when and where the guide mobile can travel through the Zoo grounds. On days of very high visitation (school and public holidays) the Guide Mobile will not run."
