Accessibility information
General accessibility further information:From www.kellytarltons.co.nz:
Mobility
There is one designated accessible parking space available for your use. Kelly Tarlton's SEA LIFE Aquarium is wheelchair accessible (there are two sets of stairs, which each have a wheel chair lift,) and disabled access is provided throughout the attraction. Wheelchairs may be borrowed from the admissions area if required. Please note that wheelchairs are on a first come, first served basis, and cannot be booked or reserved ahead of time. You will be required to leave your ID behind while you use the wheelchair.
Sensory
If you would prefer your visit to be less crowded and loud, we recommend you visit during the week (outside of school holidays), after 1pm. With the attraction being open until 5pm this allow you plenty of time to enjoy the full benefits the attraction has to offer. For your information, there will be varying levels of lighting and music throughout the attraction to enhance the visit - please be prepared if this is a concern.
Toilets
There are accessible toilets available at the entrance and exit to the attraction as well as alongside the cafe for your convenience.
Family Facilities
There are changing facilities located throughout the building, in men's and women's toilets. A designated parent's room is next to our playground which provides a more private space for breastfeeding if required.
Seating
Bench seating (without back or armrests) is available at intervals throughout the aquarium and standard seating (seat back only) is provided for our cafe guests.
Emergency Exits
The emergency exits are accessible and hazard free. There are audible fire alerting devices. The assembly areas are on an accessible route. Our staff are on hand to assist with evacuation requirements.
