Description
The Grampians National Park, commonly referred to as The Grampians, is a national park located in the Grampians region of Victoria, Australia. The 167219ha national park is situated between and on the Western Highway and on the Glenelg Highway, west of Melbourne and east of Adelaide. Proclaimed as a national park on, the park was listed on the Australian National Heritage List on 15 December 2006 for its outstanding natural beauty and being one of the richest indigenous rock art sites in south-eastern Australia. The Grampians feature a striking series of sandstone mountain ranges.

Sherpa Volunteer Program, Grampians National Park - Visitors with mobility limitations who would like to use the Parks Victoria TrailRider all-terrain wheelchair in the Grampians National Park can now book wheelchair operators, or volunteer ‚ Sherpas, to assist them. The Sherpa Volunteer Program provides trained chair operators to assist in pushing/pulling the visitor in the TrailRider chair on many of the Grampian's spectacular park trails. The service is free for park visitors and a minimum of one week's notice is required for booking Sherpa volunteers.
