Description
At Metro, we move Melbourne.
As the city’s metropolitan rail service, Metro Trains Melbourne operates across 16 lines, 222 stations and 998 kilometres of track, seven days a week.
Metro Trains has over 7,000 employees across diverse locations, from frontline train drivers and signallers to station staff and corporate office workers. We strive to represent the community we serve and are proud to have one of the largest groups of female drivers in the world.
Together, we work as one team to deliver safe, reliable train services, and an exceptional passenger experience for all Victorians and visitors to Melbourne. We maintain and renew the railway network to ensure assets are safe and operate reliably.
We partner with the State Government to deliver city-shaping projects and build Melbourne’s railway of the future.
Accessibility Information
Making public transport accessible to all
At Metro Trains, we want a network that is easy to use, where all our passengers feel confident and respected. We want to exceed our minimum obligations and build a service that is inclusive and provides independence to our passengers.
Our Accessibility Action Plan (AAP) sets out our accessibility and inclusion vision for the network and our workplace. It explains what actions we will take to reach our accessibility goals. The AAP focuses on four priority areas for improving the experiences of our passengers and employees, and outlines actions that will help us meet these priorities.
We work with a diverse range of organisations and individuals that inform and support our accessibility and inclusion goals and actions, including Metro Trains’ Accessibility Reference Group and the Australian Disability Network.
For more information about how we are working to improve accessibility and inclusion across our network, visit our corporate website.
We also have a range of passenger resources on our passenger website to support accessible and inclusive journeys, including virtual station tours and our station access guide.
