“Walking on Air is a Scottish charity enabling people with disabilities to soar like birds. The hand controls in our K21 were specially designed for pilots with spinal injuries to fly without needing to use their legs to operate the glider.
We utillise the facilities at the Scottish Gliding Centre to provide an opportunity for people with disabilities and a sense of adventure, to be able to fly a modified glider.”

Mobility Information:"Our glider, WA1, is a Schleicher ASK 21 which is a rugged, modern two-seat training glider which has been adapted to have hand controls as an alternative to the rudder pedals in the front and back seats.
The Scottish Gliding Centre has fully wheelchair accessible premises, with disability friendly washroom facilities and rooms. There are catering facilities and the club is open 364 days per annum. However please note that Walking on Air usually only operates on Fridays."
