“The São Paulo Museum of Art is a private non-profit museum, founded by the Brazilian businessman Assis Chateaubriand, in 1947, who formed, together with the couple Lina Bo and Pietro Maria Bardi, the most important European art collection in the Southern Hemisphere.
Today, the MASP collection brings together more than 10,000 works, including paintings, sculptures, objects, photographs and clothing from different periods, covering European, African, Asian and Americas production. In addition to the permanent exhibition of its collection, MASP organises an intense program of temporary exhibitions, courses, lectures, music, dance and theatre presentations.”
