The Corbett Gardens are one of the popular visitor points for the Tulip Festival which is held every year. For those with accessibility needs there are no designated accessible parking spots so you may have to drive several streets away to find parking. There is a bus drop off spot which may be used for wheelchair drop off but you could wait some time to get a spot to pull up and the kerb is at least 200 mm high. If you do have to find street parking the paths are in reasonable condition and flat. Some obstacles such as overgrown hedges may need to be negotiated (see pic). At the gardens it is not well set up for wheelchair entry because of temporary fencing that may have to be pushed aside for you to get in. And with everybody entering and leaving through the same point on a 1 metre wide path it can get very tight and busy. A lot of the paths at the gardens are compacted gravel but if it is wet your wheels will sink a bit and get very dirty, you will be better off going over the grass to avoid this. And if it is busy due to seniors groups visiting you will have no where to pass them when they come towards you due with their pushers so again be prepared to use the grass. The gardens are very colourful and well presented with many different varieties of Tulips grown. Timing is everything as you want to ensure you get there to see the flowers in full blown but it is also best if the trees are in full flower as it double the visual experience. On different days they have different events ranging from local schools choirs and other musical events. There are portable toilets on site with one accessible portaloo. There is a small range of food sold on site, which can be a bit expensive. I recommend the Robertson Pie Shop stand. There is also a combined Devonshire Scone & Tea area which sells souvenirs. This year their theme is featuring the Mary Poppins throughout the site.
