General accessibility further information:"There are eight accessible parking bays near the entrance of Healesville Sanctuary. There is also a bus bay, which can hold up to three buses.
We have free entry at our zoos for all carers accompanying a person with a disability who is a holder of a Child Disability Allowance Health Care Card, a Disability Pension Card or a Companion Card.
Our accessible toilets are located at:
- the main visitor entrance to the Sanctuary Harvest Cafe
- Reptile Precinct
Healesville Sanctuary has a Changing Places facility equipped with extra features such as a tracking hoist, full-sized change table, larger-than-standard accessible toilets and more space to meet the needs of people with a disability. This can be accessed with a Master Locksmith Access Key (MLAK)."
Mobility accessibility further information:"Healesville Sanctuary has an easy-to-follow pathway system with access for people using wheelchairs and strollers.
Wheelchairs are also available for hire. Photographic identification is required.
Our volunteers assist visitors to get around the Sanctuary in an electric golf buggy (three passengers only). Unfortunately Guided mobile tours cannot be booked in advance and do not run every day. Please ask about these tours admissions on the day of your zoo trip."Vision accessibility further information:"Assistance animals that are certified by a registered authority are welcome at Healesville Sanctuary. However, for the safety of your animal, and our animals, assistance animals are not permitted at:
- the kangaroo walk-through
- Koala Forest
- all walk-through aviaries
- flight arena shows
- close-up encounters
If you would like to be part of these experiences, a staff member or volunteer guide would be happy to escort you. Your assistance animal will be cared for while you enjoy these experiences."
