Description
This trail is one of 67 wheelchair accessible trails across Switzerland described on the Mobility International Switzerland website:
This round tour starts in Nesslau, a small municipality set in superb landscape. It offers the ultimate in relaxation. The major attraction, the River Thur surrounded by lush and rugged terrain, is a must for all nature lovers.Lush green meadows and rolling hills as far as the eye can see. So begins the route from Nesslau, which leads through this tranquil region on an easy path. An idyllic route away from the action, marked by beneficial peace and quiet. The mountains on the horizon accentuate the mood. At times even the Säntis seems close enough to touch. After the extensive views, you reach the River Thur, which leads through airy woodland. A conveniently placed rest spot with shade-giving trees is an inviting place to spend some time, accompanied by the babbling sound of the water. The route soon leads over a pretty little bridge and continues along the wild, untouched river bank. On one side you follow the course of the river. On the other, the horizon again comes into sight, it’s distant mountain summits keeping a majestic watch over the region. The route increasingly follows the course of the Thur, winding it’s way alongside the water until you reach Nesslau again, bursting with happy memories.Accessibility Information
