Description
This trail is one of 67 wheelchair accessible trails across Switzerland described on the Mobility International Switzerland website:
Spectacular panoramic views of the Valais Alps await the visitor on the Chemin des Ruinettes path above Verbier. Take the aerial gondola to the Croix-des-Ruinettes top station, where this breath-taking tour begins and ends. After the gondola ride to the top station, from which you can gain a first impression of this magnificent region, the route starts along a wide path at 2195m above sea level. Nestled on a sun-exposed terrace below you is the popular resort of Verbier, and the panoramic views of the splendid mountain scenery and the lush valley will make you stop and marvel. You can barely soak up enough of the panoramic views while the path winds it’s way through the austere Alpine landscape. Along the way, you will find interesting objets d’art that seem to shoot out of the ground by the pathside. The idyllic backdrop lends some of these objects the appearance of hovering in the air. An elephant sculpture is a particularly exotic example. The entire route lives from the captivating views of mountains and valleys. In particular the Grand Combin and Mont Blanc massifs will cast their spell on you. The circular route ends back at the top station, where you can enjoy refreshments at the restaurant and savour the impressions gathered during the tour.Accessibility Information
