Autism/Sensory accessibility information:"While traditional aqua classes often have instructors who are not trained to work with children on the autism spectrum and do not understand their special learning requirements, the WaterAbilities program is structured around Allied Health Therapies and all in water instructors are swim instructor qualified with autistic swim instruction to communicate effectively with swimmers on the autism spectrum.
In addition to this, the program aims to create a calm, patient, and reassuring atmosphere suited to the individual needs and abilities of each swimmer. The program is tailored to individual needs and abilities to meet specific challenges of each participant. The program is built on the premise that with consistency, patience, and compassion, every participant can learn these valuable skills and build confidence in the water."
